It is with great joy and celebration that we announce a re-birth. After 16 years, The Night Eagle Café will fly again – located in its new home at the Lansing Performing Arts Center. We hope you join us for events of great music….some old favorites and many new. But much much more than that, we invite you to join the community spirit of the Night Eagle.
In helping The Night Eagle to grow and reach its full potential, we are in the process of becoming a private non-profit. We will be seeking grants for free musical events, workshops, and mini-festivals all targeting the newly "senior-ed" community. Let's embrace our aging selves….but let's do it celebrating our spirits with music, art, and creativity.
We will always be seeking volunteers. PLEASE REACH OUT- become a part of our FAMILY.

The collaborative team of Millett and Murphy represents both the producer as well as the performers perspectives. We hope to launch the new Night Eagle with the intention of developing accessible music to a "newly seniored" audience at affordable rates.
We strive to create a community where quality music is available to all. Follow us as we develop - we thank the Savage Club and the Lansing Performing Arts Center for hosting us, as we launch into what creating our own Private Non-Profit might bring to supporting our growing community.

Autumn Sun- CD release concert

Autumn Sun is "having a baby"! Come join them to celebrate the release of their brand new debut CD. Autumn Sun blurs the lines between Americana and New Folk, reaching deep into the heart with original songs of substance and story, and classic folk songs given new life and made fresh with stunning vocal harmony and haunting bold new instrumentation.

Cindy Kallet/ Grey Larsen

Folk musicians Cindy Kallet and Grey Larsen are two of the most original and exciting contributors to American contemporary folk and world music. They will bring songs and tunes full of depth and joy to the stage. As composers each contributes to the unique tapestry of contemporary folk and world music in America today. Together they weave their music with vibrant colors and subtle textures.

Ordinary Elephant

Mesmerizing folk duo, Ordinary Elephant, has spent the better part of the last decade on a never-ending tour that's earned the married couple Crystal and Pete Damore widespread critical acclaim. In 2017, the pair took home the International Folk Music Award for Artist of the Year on the strength of their breakout album, "Before I Go", and two years later, they returned with the similarly lauded "Honest", which the Associated Press hailed as "one of the best Americana albums of the year."

Kennedys

Songwriting duo Pete and Maura Kennedy make a strong return to the studio and stage after three years of weekly live-streamed lockdown-era concerts. They took the opportunity to explore classic songwriting in depth, performing over a thousand songs during the pandemic. That vast overview strengthened and refined their own writing and laid the foundation for this new collection of original, socially-conscious songs. We're so glad to welcome them to our stage!

Andrew and Noah Van Norstrand

Andrew and Noah Van Nostrand are brothers known for their original music that blends traditional folk, old-time, bluegrass, country, and Americana with pop, rock, jazz, and dance influences. They have been writing, performing, and recording music together for nearly two decades. They are also known for their work with bands like The Great Bear Trio, Giant Robot Dance, Wake Up Robin and The Faux Paws

The Old Blind Dogs

Like many of the early flag bearing Scottish folk bands, the Old Blind Dogs line up has faced inevitable changes over the years but the core values at the band's musical heart continue to beat strong. The current band line up has been settled for several years now and consists of four of Scotland's finest traditional musicians at the top of their game. Original member Jonny Hardie (fiddle/vocals) is joined by Aaron Jones (cittern/guitar/vocals), Ali Hutton (pipes/whistles) and Donald Hay (percussion/vocals) and collectively they comprise one of the hottest live tickets on the traditional Scottish music scene today.

Crys Matthews

Matthews welcomes everyone wanting to combat racism and promote social justice no matter how late to the game they might be. "I'm glad people are finding their way to the table," she says. "We need more allies."Matthews's music helps to recruit those allies. Her songs encourage confrontation with tough issues. But her songs are also "drenched in hope," as she put it. In the great tradition of folk music, Matthews brings listeners in with sweet sounds that grab them by the heart, and just as they are cradled in her soulful voice and her deft handling of an acoustic guitar it's as if Matthews says, "Now that you're here, we've got some things to talk about.".. Lucy Kaplansky

Immerse yourself in the storytelling of Lucy Kaplansky this Friday evening at Night Eagle Cafe in Lansing, NY. as she performs songs from her latest album, "The Lucy Story." With the warm sounds of roots-based instruments like the acoustic guitar and mandolin, the Chicago native brings her life's journey to her music. A prolific folk artist for over two decades, Kaplansky has crafted nine other studio albums and numerous collaborations, earning her place as a master of lyrical, heartfelt songwriting. Lucy has performed at the Night Eagle Cafe several times over the years and we look forward to welcoming her to the "New" Night Eagle Cafe.
