Robin and Linda Williams and their fine group

Robin and Linda Williams have thrilled folk, bluegrass, and country audiences throughout America for more than twenty years. From their many appearances on "A Prairie Home Companion" and "The American Radio Company" to "Austic City Limits" and "The Grand Old Opry," the Williams' music reaches deep into American traditions and "encompasses all that's best in country music" (Richmond Times Dispatch).

Robin and Linda Williams are joined by Their Fine Group, Jim Watson and Kevin Maul. Jim, a founding member of The Red Clay Ramblers, has toured with Robin and LInda for seven years playing bass and adding his distinctive harmony vocals. Kevin Maul, a full time member of the group for five years, joins on dobro and harmony vocals.

Billboard Magazine says of the Williams' songs: "Beautifully crafted songs and sweet, sailing harmonies...Every song is memorable. The group released their 13th recording in the Spring of 1996. Entitle "Sugar for Sugar," the CD showcases the group's outstanding vocal harmonies and tight musicianship. Released on the Sugar Hill label, it features mostly original songs, and is supported by appearances of Mary Chapin-Carpenter, Tim and Molly O'Brien, fiddler Stuart Duncan, and others. Their previous release, "Good News," was the group's first all-vocal CD, released during early 1995. In 1996 it was nominated by both the National Association of Independent Record Distributors and the International Bluegrass Music Association as the Best Gospel Album of the Year.
