Anne Hills
Night Eagle is proud to present the appearance of one of the giants of the folk music scene, Anne Hills. Anne is a prolific songwriter whose material has been recorded by many other artists, and whose soaring soprano has rung out in both solo touring and high-powered collaborations. A regular performer at the Kerrville Folk Festival, she has also worked on stage and in recordings with Tom Paxton, Bob Gibson, Livingston Taylor, John Hartford, Gordon Bok, Peter Erskine (Weather Report) and Paul McCandless. At home with both traditional folk material and new songwriting, Anne handles both with what the Chicago Tribune calls "one of the most glorious voices in all of contemporary folk music." Nine albums in 15 years for Flying Fish Records provide an extraordinary range of musical expression.

Along with her soaring soprano, Anne's songwriting has garnered critical acclaim and the attention of her peers. Her songs have been covered by both trios with whom she worked, as well as a growing number of other artists. Her writing is often inspired by news events, and she is a regular performer at The Kerrville Folk Festival (as well as a "Songwriter's School" instructor 1993 & 1995). She has co-written with Michael Smith, Jay Ansill and David Roth.

A truly fabulous voice.
